Living a subsistence lifestyle my entire life and know that it's about so much more than just getting food. It's about being in tune with our environment, nature and ourselves. It's about working together, taking care of what you get and being thankful for it. It's about family, learning from others and sharing. I feel very fortunate as I paint that I can paint what I feel passionate about and know that when I am finished it will be hung in a place where children and adults can look at it and feel good and proud of who they are and how they live.
